How does the unit work?
It gives you a total reading at the end of the testing procedure of all acculated contamnants in the in-service lubricnt on test e.g varnish, soot, gums (bi-products of the combustion affect), all wear metals, water and fuel
How do you know the end reading is accurate?
The ALT unit has been developed in tandem with full laboratory analysis reports so as to give correct and accurate end readings with all in-service lubricants types, taking the guess work out of oil drain cycles, filter changes, and giving end users piece of mind in servicing their equipment.
This potentially allows the user to 'MAX OUT' lubricants and filters in-service safely and with confidence.
Can i use this unit instead of a full laboratory analysis?
Yes, this is what the ALT was designed for. Once conversant with the ALT and its operation then you will be able to monitor with confidence the life span of the lubricant you are testing, which will elimate the necessity for a full laboratory analysis.
The unit will do a full test which will be very accurate, from start to finish, in 3-5mins whereas a full laboratory analysis can take up to several weeks before the operator knows of any possible damaging factors occuring to the lubricant in the machine under test.
Can the ALT detect water and fuel in the lubricant on test?
Yes, at the end of the primary test procedure the instruction manual will direct the operator in the process required to test for water ingression or fuel dillution in the lubricants on test.
